Short-term care
Care coverage for up to a year, for people who can't get or don't want a long-term policy.
Short-term care pays for home care or a facility for a limited period, usually up to a year. It's easier to qualify for than long-term care, it costs less, and it's often the practical choice after 70 or when health history rules out the longer policies.
It also fills the gap Medicare leaves after its first hundred days of skilled nursing care.
